We are excited to announce the release of a new feature for Rotaville: Shift Interest. This feature allows employees to mark their interest for shifts they are not yet assigned to as "Willing" or "Reluctant."
To use Shift Interest, the Workforce Settings must allow employees to see all shifts. Shift Interest only applies before an employee is assigned to a shift. The old pre-accept and pre-decline functionality has been removed from the system.
After an employee has been assigned to a shift, they can register their Shift Agreement (Accept or Decline) as before.
We have also fixed a collection of minor bugs and improved system performance. We have also updated the design on many screens and pages.
To coincide with the new Shift Interest functionality, an updated version of the Rotaville App is available for Android and iOS. Please be sure to look for the new app version 62.0.0.
We've also updated some Short Video lessons with details about Shift Interest.

We hope this new feature is helpful to you. Please let us know if you have any questions.
We have recently updated the styles used on our pages and screens. We have been working on this for some time and are pleased with the results. We believe it makes the overall experience more modern and user-friendly.
If you notice any pages, screens, or dialogs, that do not look quite right, please let us know. We would be grateful if you could take a photo or screenshot and send it to us. This will allow us to fix the issue as soon as possible.
Thank you for your help and we hope you enjoy the updated look!
At Rotaville, we are constantly working to improve the user experience for our customers. Recently, we have made some updates to our production server and other backend components, and we are excited to share with you the positive results.
First, we've upgraded our servers to newer, more powerful machines. This ensures that the service can handle increased traffic and perform more complex tasks without slowing down.
Next, we optimized our database architecture to reduce the number of queries and improve data retrieval times. This means users will experience faster load times when accessing their data on Rotaville.
We are proud to say that these updates have led to a significant improvement in the performance and reliability of Rotaville. We hope that you will notice the difference as you continue to use the service.
As always, we are committed to providing our customers with the best possible experience and will continue to make updates and improvements to the service in the future.
Thank you for choosing Rotaville!
The Show More Calendar button at the bottom of the "Month" view of the rota now loads up the whole next month (instead of old behaviour of just adding an extra week).
This change should be especially useful for managers who like to do multi-week or multi-month shift planning on the Month view.
In this short video stream, I explain some of the recent updates to Rotaville
New features and improvements
Exciting news! Rotaville now has two new sister sites
ShiftApp Employee Scheduling - located in the USA, for USA and Americas.
WorkRoster Work Roster Software - located in Australia, for Australia and Asia-Pacific.
These new services are just like Rotaville but are customized and localized to better suit these local markets. Global companies with distributed employees can choose to use either ShiftApp, WorkRoster, or Rotaville - whichever best meets their needs.
If you have any questions, then please get in touch.
If you're subscribed to 'Rotaville News & Updates' in your Rotaville Settings, then you probably have already received a copy of
Rotaville Newsletter September 2022
The big news is the expansion of the Rotaville Network to ShiftApp.com and WorkRoster.com
Both these services are launching soon. Click the above links to subscribe to our launch notification list.
In the past week, we have updated the Rotaville Mobile App.
Version 61 of our Rota App is now available in the "AppStore" and "Play Store".
If you've not already updated, then please check for updates.
This version contains some minor tweaks and behind-the-scenes updates.
All the short video lessons in the Rotaville Academy ( the HELP tab ) have been refreshed and updated!
Watching all these videos is the best way to learn the ins and outs, and the power, of Rotaville.
If you've previously completed the Academy certificates, you'll now need to re-take the courses, to renew and update your qualifications to the current level.
Please get in touch if you have any feedback or questions about the new video lessons.
Rota Managers now have access to six new CSV export options in the Print menu.
If your workforce doesn't have multiple rotas, or clients, or resources, then some of these export options won't be displayed.
If you have any questions or feedback about these new options then please let us know - support@rotaville.com.
The Employee Holiday Allowance (as seen in Edit Employee Record), which overrides the Workforce default allowance, can now include 1/2 day or 1/4 days.
This might be useful when you have an employee who starts half way through the year, or a part time employee who works 25% of the time, etc.
This feature is now available on the desktop web app and will be in the next release of the mobile apps.
Rotaville Android App version 60.3.4 is now available.
Please check the 'Play Store' app for app updates.
This version fixes some recent problems.
Over the past few months we've been busy make many small tweaks, small fixes, and behind-the-scenes performance improvements to Rotaville.
All these improvements are now live.
If you ever spot any problems or have a question then please get in touch.
We've recently added two new features to Rotaville
From the view of the Employee Record managers can now add private notes. These "notes" can be viewed and edited and deleted by all the other managers.
Notes can also be added to Client Records and Resource Records.
Here are the recordings of some Livestreams where we demoed this new feature
Livestream #1 https://youtu.be/Xz5L5PoDHtI - demo of Employee Notes
Livestream #2 https://youtu.be/JaJ9N0dHd04 - a repeat of Livestream #1
Holidays and Sick Leave on Rotaville have until now counted the number of calendar days as the recordable period. But some Holidays, or Sick Leave, might cross weekends or bank holidays or public holidays. Now managers can set a custom number of "Days Off" on the Holiday and Sick Leave edit forms.
Here's a LiveStream where we demo the new feature
Livestream 3 - https://youtu.be/vO5vbf9UCMI - demo of Custom Days Off
We're now livestreaming about Rotaville - demos, features, questions, best practices, etc.
Please subscribe ( and click the Bell ) on the Rotaville Rota Software YouTube channel to be notified of our upcoming Livestreams or keep an on your Rotaville Home Page , the Announcements Forum here, or our Social channels.
The Employee Schedule report now includes a total sum of [ Break ] minutes for the reporting period. This total will only show when an employee has actually had some [ Break ] time included in a shift.
A reminder - [Break] times on Rotaville are not included in the total hours summary for employees. ( e.g. a 3 hour shift with a 2 hour break will only add 1 hour to the total time worked for that employee ).
